How we verify a listing (and how to read one)
Every profile on this site shows two things: a DAO registration (the legal existence of the organisation, renewed yearly at the district) and, where applicable, an SWC affiliation number (required for foreign funding).
Before publishing, a volunteer checks both numbers against the public registers, then calls or emails the organisation using the contact details they gave us — not the other way around. If we can’t reach anyone in three attempts over two weeks, the listing waits.
We also mark when a listing was last cross-checked, in the footer of every page. If a renewal lapses, the profile stays up but gains a note saying so, and we re-check the following quarter.
None of this replaces your own due diligence. But it does mean that what you see here matched the public record on the date shown.
