About the organisation
Founded by a group of nurses returning from work abroad, HCHI supports rural health posts in Gandaki Province. The organisation trains community health volunteers, equips birthing centres, and runs quarterly health camps in wards that are more than two hours’ walk from the nearest road.
Current work
- Safe motherhood programme across 14 birthing centres in Kaski and Lamjung
- Training and refresher courses for 260 female community health volunteers
- Seasonal mobile health camps in upper Madi rural municipality
